Marketing Communication is a thriving and viable area of technical communication. Its major goal is to persuade and/or sell, though it can also inform and entertain. Sub-categories of marketing communication include: social media marketing, digital communication, promotional documents, and more.
Work Experience. As an office manager, resident hall director, and administrative coordinator, I have created technical documents for marketing purposes. These have included the following: promotional flyers, traditional newsletters, e-newsletters, social media flyers, and social media plans.
Teaching Experience. As an instructor of professional and technical writing, I guide students on the requirements and creation process in the following areas: digital communication, infographics, and white papers. This guidance is provided through lectures and in-class practicums.
